The Vice President announces a major structural change in the education system

Sharjah24 – WAM: Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has announced a major new restructuring of the education system in the UAE, and spearheaded the establishment of institutions supporting the development of the sector.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “After consultation with my brother, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we are today announcing a major structural change in the education sector in the United Arab Emirates. We appointed Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi as Minister of Education and asked him to review all laws and policies related to the education system of our country.

Her Highness added: “Also today we are announcing the appointment of Sarah Al Amiri as Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and Chair of the Emirates Schools Establishment. We have asked her to develop a comprehensive plan to modernize public schools in the country.We thank Hussain Al Hammadi and Jameela Al Muhairi for their efforts during the previous period.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid noted, “We are also announcing the appointment of Sara Musallam as Minister of State for Early Education and to oversee the new Federal Authority for Early Education. comprehensive plans for tracking child development from birth to grade four. The healthy development of our children is the guarantee of our educational success.”

His Highness announced the establishment of the “Federal Authority for Quality and Standards in Education” affiliated to the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates, responsible for measuring educational outcomes, student performance and the efficiency of the educational process.

Also, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced the restructuring of the “Board of Education and Human Resources” chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to be responsible for overseeing the project for the future of education. in the country.

New structure of the education system The new structure of the education sector includes the Council for Education and Human Resources, the Federal Authority for the Quality of Education, the Ministry of Education, the Federal Authority for early childhood education, the Emirates Schools Establishment, in addition to the education authorities of each emirate, which will operate according to a specific system and competences.

The Education and Human Resources Council Under the new structure, the Education and Human Resources Council will be reconstituted, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation international.

The council will be responsible for overseeing the project for the future of education in the country.

In addition, the Council’s responsibilities will include defining the vision and goals of the education sector in the UAE, developing the overall education framework and submitting it to the UAE Cabinet for approval, and developing educational policies and legislation. In addition, the Council will monitor the performance of the sector.

The Federal Authority for Quality and Standards in Education The new structure has created a specialized Authority for Quality in Education which will be affiliated to the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates. It will be mainly responsible for measuring school results, student performance and the effectiveness of the educational process.

The Authority will be responsible for measuring the quality of education, auditing educational outcomes related to education, early childhood education, kindergarten, public education and higher education , in addition to submitting reports on results and proposals to develop policies, strategies, legislation and curricula.

The Federal Authority for Early Childhood Education The new structure created a federal authority specializing in early childhood education, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive plans for monitoring child development from birth to fourth year. Affiliated to the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates, the Authority will be responsible for developing policies, strategies, legislation and programs related to the educational needs of early childhood.

The Authority will be responsible for setting regulations and standards, licensing and monitoring public and private nurseries across the country in coordination with relevant local authorities, and working with parents to strengthen their role in early childhood .

Development of the Ministry of Education Under the new structure, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Education will include the development of policies, strategies and legislation relating to public and higher education in the UAE.

The ministry’s functions include managing and developing the general education framework, curricula and tools for public public schools nationwide, developing curricula for compulsory teaching materials for private schools, setting standards and regulations, licensing and monitoring of private schools in coordination with relevant authorities. local authorities.

The ministry’s job also includes supervising international examinations in the country and managing their implementation in all public, private and higher education institutions, in coordination with the relevant authorities. In addition to the recognition of public and higher education institutions operating outside the country, the equivalence of certificates and qualifications issued by them and the ratification of certificates and qualifications issued by public and higher education institutions and approved training courses in the country.

The Emirates Schools Establishment The new structure of the education system included the Emirates Schools Establishment, which reports to the Cabinet of the United Arab Emirates, and is concerned with improving the efficiency of public schools and nurseries, overseeing public schools in the country and to implement policies, strategies and standards related to the development of the education sector.

Under the new structure, the school will also specialize in the development of programs, activities and events for welcoming students to public schools, overseeing their implementation and proposing innovative models. and new to the operation of public schools to increase their efficiency.
