Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) is participating with a distinguished pavilion in the 31st session of the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF), which kicked off at the International Exhibition and Convention Center on Thursday of Doha.
The ministry pavilion includes many educational events and activities that highlight the history, development and renaissance of education in Qatar since the fifties of the last century and the modern education system that the ministry is currently implementing. Also, it offers a bouquet of events that return to these stages through two sections Qatar between the past and the present and the second includes live and recorded activities displayed inside the pavilion.
The pavilion witnesses activity throughout the exhibition days, where visitors can see an exhibition of modern and developed Qatari curricula through glass boxes, old and modern education stamps to which the Center youth for recreation participated, statistical reports, old education certificates for education and a mobile and talking robot to welcome visitors, developed by Qatar Science and Technology Secondary School for Boys (QSTSS).
The pavilion of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education also stands out for displaying a strip of pictures and memories of education containing the most important information about its past, especially since the State of Qatar considers education as a real follow-up measure to the development of its society. and people.
In this context, the head of the department of educational resources at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Nawal Al Tamimi, said that the pavilion differs considerably from its participation in the book fair in previous years, from especially as the pavilion includes a section to look at the old education system in Qatar, which includes many photos of old schools, as well as a review of old school curricula, tools, early school buildings and the story of their development over the years, noting that the pavilion also includes another section dedicated to modern education in Qatar.
Al Tamimi explained that the pavilion also showcases several activities during the days of the Doha International Book Fair, pointing out that each day will see the presentation of many new heritage books and the organization of various educational and cultural events.
Al Tamimi stressed that the pavilion is committed to applying all precautionary measures due to the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of social distancing and willingness to wear face masks, noting that parents have been asked to accompany their children at events with the importance of adhering to the conditions of COVID-19 in terms of reducing the number of participants. She added that some students from the school will visit the pavilion.
