Issues related to the development of the higher education system discussed in the Government

YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired a government consultation, during which issues related to the development of the higher education system and the formation of the university environment were discussed, ARMENPRESS reported from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that the development of higher education is of strategic importance to the government, stressing the need for higher education institutions to meet international standards and ensure high quality education.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the solution of existing problems in the field, the modernization of universities, the possibilities of creating a university town were discussed. Various observations and suggestions were made by the heads of the departments concerned.

The study of international experience and cooperation with professional circles abroad were emphasized.

Prime Minister Pashinyan noted that it is necessary to have a clear vision for the development of the higher education system and instructed officials to develop a relevant concept and a roadmap for the implementation of measures, which will also include the program of establishing a university town.
